There are so many things to do and places to visit in Prague! It is a great idea to stay here for at least two days so that you can enjoy the city without a hurry. Here is our two-day itinerary for getting to know Prague.

Day One

We suggest that this day, you focus on the Vltava river's right bank: Old Town with Jewish Quarter, New Town, and Vysehrad.

Start at Wenceslas Square to look at the magnificent National museum. Go to the Lucerna passage where David Cerny's statue of St. Wenceslas hangs upside down. Visit the Church of Our Lady of the Snows with the highest altar and vaults in Prague.

Na Prikope street will take you to the Gothic Powder Gate. Do not miss House of the Black Madonna in Celetna street. Go to Ovocny Trh Square to admire the beautiful Estates Theatre. The oldest building of Charles University is also located here. On your way to Old Town Square, take a detour to visit cozy Tyn yard and take a look at the Church of Our Lady before Tyn.

Spend some time at Old Town Square. Wait for a procession of Apostles on the clock tower. Look at the baroque St. Nikolas Church. Parizska Street will take you to the Jewish Quarter with Old New Synagogue and Old Jewish Cemetery. From there, you can get to the Marianske Square and take a shortcut to the Charles Bridge through Klementinum.

After making a wish on the Charles Bridge, go to the Smetanovo Nabrezi. The view at the bridge and castle from there is stunning. After the short walk, you will find yourself in front of the National Theatre. After that, you can continue walking to the Dancing House and further to Vysehrad.

By the way, you can take a break on Naplavka - embankment between the Palackeho and Vysehrad Train Bridges. There are many cafes and restaurants here: some on the boats and some in the vaults in the wall. Great place to grab some lunch! On Saturdays, you will also find a farmer's market here.

Our last stop for this day is Vysehrad. Enjoy the walk on bastions and a magnificent view of the city.

Day Two

Today we will get to know the left bank of the Vltava River: Hradcany, Prague Castle, and Lesser Town.

Let's start at Strahov Monastery from the 12th century. You can get here by taking the tram 22. The stop is called Pohorelec. Go to through the yard. In the back, you will find the observation area with a fantastic view.

Proceed to Loretanske Square with Cerninsky Palace and the most famous pilgrimage site in Prague - Loreta. Take a detour to Hradcanske Square via fairy tale Novy Svet street. And you would like, grab a coffee at a small cafe there. It is excellent!

Do not forget to stop to take another look at Prague panorama from Hradcanske Square before entering Prague Castle. Visit the Cathedrale, walk through all courtyards. If you are in Prague in April - October, definitely go to some of the parks of the castle.

Go down to Lesser Quarter. Visit the park of Wallenstein Palace (open April-October). Stop at St. Nikolas Church in Malostranske Square. Go to the Church of Our Lady Victorious, where the famous Infant Jesus of Prague can be seen. Not far from the church, you can find a funicular railway. If you like, you can go up to the Petrin hill and visit a Petrin Tower - a small copy of the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

After coming back down, go to Velkoprevorske Square. Take a photo in front of the graffiti-covered Lennon Wall. Cross a small stream called Certovka and visit Kampa Island with a lovely park.
